What You Need to Kickstart Convention Season

Conventions are coming back to the Orlando area! After a lengthy hiatus due to the pandemic, socially distanced large events are making a comeback. That means it’s time to take another look at your convention collateral. Did you change your messaging during the pandemic? Need to update your services? Here are a few things you should have ready in time for your next convention:

Double check your large-format banners.

The last thing you want at your first public convention in over a year is to have outdated branding all over your largest print assets. Make sure all banners have updated brand colors, logos, taglines and other messaging. Inconsistent messaging could send a mixed message to prospects that your brand might not have it all together. Also, make sure your banners are in good condition. If they’ve been shoved in the back of a closet for over a year, look dingy, or have unidentifiable stains, it might be time to invest in a new banner.

Update flyers and information.

Flyers are an easy way to make information about your company portable for convention goers. You might not have more than 5 seconds to make an impression on a passerby, so flyers make it easy for convention attendees to take your messaging with them and revisit it later. It’s critical, then, to make sure the flyer information is updated with the latest information about your company. Struggling to remember the last time you looked at your convention flyers? That might be a sign it’s worth another look.

QR codes will still be essential.

To reduce touch points during the pandemic, QR codes made a huge comeback across a variety of industries. Whether you love them or could leave them, QR codes are an easy way for people to directly access your digital materials. Scanning QR codes is more efficient than manually typing in a website URL. They can also easily be customized to direct people to a landing page or customized website specific to the conference. You can even get more specific and direct attendees to limited-time special offers or coupons. Consider printing QR codes on larger stickers or as part of your banner design.

Revisit sales collateral.

For many companies, the pandemic reshaped their day-to-day operations. Check with your sales team prior to the convention to ensure that any print collateral used in the sales funnel is updated and reflects the latest information. If not, it’s worth your time and money to run a new print of the material — even if you’re handing it out in limited quantities at a convention booth.

Fun stickers that reflect branding.

Stickers can be an easy way to leave a positive impression in a short time. Having a pile for people to grab off your table means instant portable branding for you and something fun for them! Go beyond stickers that only have your standard logo, and opt for a fun slogan or something customized for the convention.

With conventions returning, it’s best to act sooner rather than later on making sure your collateral is ready to go. Whether it’s your first convention or your 50th, Xerographics has helped a variety of companies in Orlando create memorable collateral to set their brand apart. We also help out-of-state companies going to the Orange County Convention Center or any of the Area Convention Hotels make printing easy by delivering printed materials directly to their booth.
